Deputy Childcare /Workshop Assistance manager
Main duties include:
Managing the childcare/workshop assistant team when the childcare manager is engaged in other activities
Assist the actor/teachers in workshops and support children, some of which could have disabilities/ emotional and social needs
Help in risk assessments and signing in, meeting and greeting parents, observations, development planning, first aid and other Ofsted requirements
Planning break-time games and quiet craft activities when children are waiting for their turn to go on stage, of rehearse their scene
Lead break-out groups for learning songs and parts
Hhelp pre and during evening shows, quick costume changes and keeping order back stage and there might even be need to go onto the stage in costume when supporting a child.
You will be required to work in collaboration with stage management and to adhere to the over all theatre management.
Must have an up to date first aid certificate and be experienced level 3 or above in childcare/ teaching assistance qualification. The ideal candidate must be flexible, able to work in a large team, be patient and also able to work under own initiative from time to time. There will be a training day before the start of each project, meeting before and after each day and the candidate will need to be CRB cleared with two good references
The Post is project based and runs during school holidays but the company is expanding this year with possibilities for more work in the future.
Usual days run 8am - 4pm with 1 hour for lunch and coffee breaks when needed.
Evenings 3pm - 7.30pm

With both the above posts sign language skills and any other training is always an advantage.
ACTOR/TEACHERS and STAGE MANAGEMENT/DSM
We welcome CV's from actors and Stage management throughout the year with a covering letter.
All actors must be experienced working with children 5 years and upwards, able to lead workshops and able to cope with a week of rehearsals without the younger cast. All actors must have strong singing voices and preferably play instruments.
Stage management/DSM must not be adverse to working with children. They will be required to be flexible and undertake many tasks within the company and also be on the book. We are a small management team and are involved with every aspect including painting Stage sets, making costumes and props etc. The Stage Manager is required to Stage Manage both the professional company and children's company and liaise with the childcare team and front of house. Will be required to undertake risk assessments and understand some Ofsted requirements when working with children. Must have an up to date first aid certificate and undertake a CRB check.
We are a professional ITC theatre company and require experienced actor/teachers and Stage Management with a recognised theatre professional training only please do not apply if this is not you! Work is on a project basis only with school and holiday workshops and a Summer School production with public performances.
